ActiveProtective Takes Senior Safety to a Whole New Level

Dr. Robert Buckman is a trauma surgeon. He is also the Chief Technology Officer for ActiveProtective, which is in the process of developing a wearable airbag that protects senior citizens from falling accidents.

The belt-like apparatus is equipped with 3D motion sensors that detect atypical motion and automatically deploys a slab-like airbag that runs down the sides of the hips, reducing impact force to hip bones.
