They could even be experiencing a combination of any of those things. It has come as a surprise, but the senior citizens of Montana are actually committing suicide more than any other age group in the state. That is definite proof that teens are not the age group that has the highest risk of suicide, as is commonly believed. The numbers prove that the fact is true not only in Montana, but also across the country. In 2010, even though the elderly only made up about 13 percent of the country’s total population, 15.6 of all suicides were committed by senior citizens.
